BROWSER HIJACKER : DELTA SEARCH TOOLBAR

Delta Search is a browser hijacker bug, which is published via other open downloads, and once installed it will attach the Delta Toolbar, and alter your browser home-page and default search engine to www.delta-search.com.
Delta Search will present ads and sponsored links in your search results, and may collect search terms from your search queries. The Delta hijacker is used to boost advertising revenue, as in the use of evil SEO, to pump up a site’s page ranking in search results.

Delta is technically not a virus, but it does exhibit plenty of malware behaviour, such as rootkit capabilities to hook deep into the OS, browser hijacking, and in general just snooping with the user experience. The industry generally refers to it as a “PUP,” or potentially unwanted program.
Delta Search will attach on your computer after you have installed a freeware software (video recording/streaming, download-managers or PDF creators). This browser hijacker is also coupled within the custom installer on most download sites (examples: NET, Brothersoft or Softonic), so if you have downloaded a software from these websites, chances are that Delta was installed during the software setup process.
